About Us
Simon, Michaela and Ramsey
Michaela Cunningham and Simon Trevelyan opened Arbutus View Thermal Spa in May of 2024.
After leaving their corporate careers in 2021, they headed to a new adventure on Salt Spring Island, where they started a folk music club, opened a Bed and Breakfast and renovated two homes.
In January of 2024, they decided to follow their dreams by building a Nordic-style thermal spa on their forested land amid the groves of Arbutus, Fir and Cedar. The sauna, cold plunges and hot tubs, set in an exquisite natural setting, help everyone that visits to slow down and relax.
Since the Spa opened, Simon, Michaela and Ramsey (their West Highland White Terrier) have welcomed over 600 visitors from all over the world.
“The greatest reward we get from running the Spa is seeing people’s reaction when they walk into the complex: their faces are a mixture of wonder and awe. No less rewarding is to see the glow of contentment on their faces as they leave.”
